If you are like me and work from home 8+ hours a day, you need a comfortable ergonomic setup. I decided to write this blog so others don’t have to go through the pain of finding the perfect office setup and copy what they like. Below are a few pictures of the setup from every angle to get a good idea of the setup, and then I will provide links and costs for all the items if you are interested.
Let’s start with a suitable sit-stand desk. I love the Apex Desk; it is a minimalistic desk with a curved front that gives you more room.
Desk: ApexDesk AX7133GRY Elite Series Electric Height Adjustable Standing Desk (71", Grey Top/Black Frame): $720
Next you will want a tray to hide all of your wires: ApexDesk 36-inch Cable Management Tray - Compatible Only with The 60” and 71” Elite Series Standing Desk (Black): $30
Now for the monitor stand. I like this one. I can get the monitor as close as possible because I like to recline while I work. Comfort is key, and with this monitor. LX Desk Monitor Arm, Tall Pole (polished aluminum): $249
Everyone lives on zoom these days, so you need a good microphone and camera. I love the audio quality of the Blue Mike. It is great. But you also need a suitable stand to push it out of the way when you are working heads down.
Blue Microphones Yeticaster Professional Broadcast Bundle: $199
The Logi Screacam gives you full HD and even fixes your lighting with excellent filtering features. LOGITECH STREAMCAM: $169
Now you have to have a good 12-hour chair. What is a 12-hour chair? It is a chair made for you to sit in it for more than 12 hours and not have back pain. I love the Stressless living chair, now it is expensive, but it is worth it to your back if you work a lot and you are like me and want to recline while you work.
STRESSLESS WING MEDIUM RECLINER WITH OTTOMAN | NATIONWIDE INSIDE DELIVERY: $2,595.00
You will notice something about my setup; you will not find a mouse. I hate the mouse. I have to take my hand off the keyboard every time I want to type, a productivity killer. Now you can toss your mouse in the trash; check out the RollerMouse it uses a bar to move the cursor, which is perfect for this setup because you can use your thumb below the space bar and key your hands on the keys.
RollerMouse Red Series: $265
Now for the keyboard, I like the Goldtouch keyboard, so I can split the keyboard and arch it up to be in the perfect ergonomic position. So with the roller mouse and the keyboard, you never have to take your hands off the keyboard, and your hand never gets tired because you can just rest your palms on the pads.
Goldtouch GTN-0099 V2 Adjustable Ergonomic Keyboard -- PC Only (USB & PS2) Black: $88
Finally, no setup is perfect without a great set of headphones. I like the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones; they have great at noise-canceling, which helps tune out background noise, especially great if you have kids!
Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700
